Uganda Gazette Goes Digital: A New Era of Accessible Legal Information
KAMPALA, UGANDA – In a significant step towards modernizing public information services, the @UgandaGazette has officially transitioned to a digital platform, now accessible via the new portal at portal.uppc.go.ug. The move aims to revolutionize how businesses and professionals interact with statutory instruments, offering reliable, real-time access to critical legal updates.
The shift to a digital format eliminates the delays traditionally associated with physical gazettes, ensuring that stakeholders can track legal changes instantly. To access the e-Gazette, users are required to register an account on the portal and log in to the dedicated e-Resources section.
This transition introduces a flexible pricing structure designed to cater to varying user needs. Individual digital copies are priced at UGX 3,000 each, while professionals and organizations seeking continuous access can opt for an annual subscription priced at UGX 800,000.
Authorities highlight that this move supports professional compliance by providing a modern, efficient, and transparent method for tracking the legal and regulatory instruments that govern business and commerce in Uganda. By digitizing the gazette, the government aims to enhance accessibility and ensure that all stakeholders remain informed in a timely manner.
