
Fatal Crash Involving Minister Judith Nabakooba Claims Life of Pedestrian on Kampala-Masaka Highway
KAMPALA, Uganda – A tragic road traffic accident along the Kampala-Masaka Highway on Wednesday morning left one person dead and involved the Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Judith Nabakooba.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 AM at Kibukula Swamp, according to a statement released by police spokesperson SP Kananura Michael.
The crash involved a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, registration number UBR 811D, and a pedestrian identified as Batera Flavia, a resident of Kyengera. Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.
Minister Nabakooba and the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were both rushed to Nkozi Hospital for medical attention and have since been discharged.
The body of the deceased was transported to Gombe Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted. The vehicle involved in the incident has been towed and is currently parked at the police station pending further inspection.
