
Ugandan MP Hellen Nakimuli Passes Away, Alexandra Medical Center Confirms
KAMPALA, Uganda — Hon. Hellen Nakimuli, the Member of Parliament for Kalangala District, has died, according to an official statement released by Alexandra Medical Center on April 21, 2026. She passed away on April 19, 2026.
In a heartfelt statement signed by the hospital’s CEO, Dr. Castro Kisoule, the medical facility expressed profound sorrow over the loss of the legislator, whom it described as “a daughter, a leader, and a devoted servant of her people.”
“The passing of Hon. Hellen Nakimuli has weighed deeply on every member of our team since we lost her on 19th April, 2026,” the statement read. “We grieve alongside her family, her loved ones, her constituents in Kalangala, and all Ugandans who mourn her loss.”
Alexandra Medical Center, located on Plot 1 Kitante Close along Yusuf Lule Road in Kampala, confirmed that it has been in contact with the lawmaker’s family and will continue to offer support through the medical team that had been overseeing her care.
“Our doors remain open to them, and the member of our team that was in charge of her care will continue to offer support where necessary,” the hospital said.
Dr. Kisoule emphasized the institution’s commitment to compassionate and ethical care, noting that the loss of any patient is “never routine” for their staff.
“We are a family of medical professionals who chose this calling because we care deeply about human life. The loss of any patient is never routine for us. It is always personal,” he added.
The hospital appealed for calm, patience, and prayers for Nakimuli’s family as they navigate what it called “this painful season.”
“May God grant them comfort and peace,” the statement concluded.
