Security Forces Raid Former Speaker Anita Among’s Home in Corruption Probe

Bukedea, Uganda – A joint security operation led by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), with support from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and other security agencies, has raided the residence of Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament and former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among.

The operation, which took place earlier today, is linked to an active corruption investigation into allegations of illicit enrichment and money laundering involving the high-profile legislator.
According to initial reports, the raid is part of an intensifying probe into suspected financial irregularities. Security teams descended on the former Speaker’s home as investigators worked to gather evidence related to the case.

Details regarding what was seized during the operation have not yet been made public by authorities. The CID and UPDF have yet to release an official statement detailing the scope of the investigation or any potential charges.
The development marks a significant escalation in the probe against Ms. Among, who has been a prominent figure in Ugandan politics. Attempts to reach her legal representatives for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
