Salt Media proprietor, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, has lashed out at Kampala’s pastors for failing to attend fellow preacher Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s 20th-anniversary celebration concert held at the Serena Hotel.
Bugingo, who is now on good terms with Bugembe and was present at the event, expressed deep disappointment, branding the absent pastors as “fake” and “users” for not standing with their colleague.
“Pastors are fake. They are users and selfish people,” Bugingo said during his Sunday service. “Pastor Bugembe has visited almost every church in Kampala, big and small, but when it was his turn and he needed people to attend his concert, none of them showed up except me.”
The outspoken pastor noted that Bugembe’s two-decade ministry has touched countless congregations across the city and deserved to be honored by his peers.
Bugingo went on to praise those who did attend, including Chief Traditionalist Maama Fiina, whom he commended for showing solidarity despite not being a pastor. “It was a learning experience. Maama Fiina attended and stood with Bugembe when others chose to stay away,” he added.
According to Bugingo, Kampala pastors should have been present not only to offer moral support but also to contribute financially to celebrate Bugembe’s milestone.
