Kobusingye Vows Inclusive Transformation as She Wins NRM Women’s League Chairpersonship
KAMPALA – In a resounding affirmation of her visionary leadership, Ms. Adrine Kobusingye has been declared the elected Candidate for National Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League for the term 2026–2031. Her victory signals a renewed commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Uganda.
Kobusingye’s campaign, run under the powerful motto “Leadership with a Heart,” captured the aspirations of women across the nation, promising a paradigm of compassionate and empathetic stewardship. Her win is seen not just as a political achievement, but as a mandate to drive transformative change for Ugandan women at all levels of society.
Central to her victory is a comprehensive manifesto, described by supporters as a magnum opus of visionary thinking. It is strategically structured around four pivotal pillars designed to empower every woman to lead, thrive, and impact their community:
- Socioeconomic Transformation: Kobusingye has pledged to foster an environment conducive to women’s economic emancipation and social mobility, moving beyond empowerment to tangible financial independence.
- Equity and Justice for Women: A core tenet of her agenda is to vigorously promote gender parity, challenge pernicious stereotypes, and advocate for the protection and advancement of women’s rights across Uganda.
- Civic Education and NRM Political Ideology: She plans to edify women on their civic responsibilities, promote active citizenship, and deepen the understanding of the NRM’s core principles, ensuring women are informed and engaged stakeholders in the nation’s future.
- Mindset Change: Recognizing the power of self-perception, Kobusingye aims to launch initiatives that encourage women to reframe their ambitions, challenge negative self-talk, and cultivate a growth mindset to unlock their full potential.
In her acceptance speech, Kobusingye reiterated her commitment to unity and progress. “This is a victory for every woman who believes in a brighter future for Uganda. Together, we will build a league that is a catalyst for transformative change, a league that leaves no one behind,” she stated.
With this mandate, the NRM CEC Women’s League, under Kobusingye’s helm, is poised to embark on a new chapter focused on actionable results and meaningful inclusion, strengthening the fabric of both the party and the nation.
