The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has issued a direct order to the UPDF Engineers Brigade to expedite work on the new Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) headquarters complex.
The directive was delivered on Thursday during the General’s visit to the construction site, where he was briefed on the progress of the significant infrastructure project.
Expressing his expectations for a swift completion, Gen. Muhoozi set a firm deadline for the project. He instructed the corps of engineers to ensure that both structures within the complex are fully completed within the next eleven months.
The new MODVA headquarters is a strategic national project intended to provide a modern and centralized command center for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and the administration of veteran affairs. The project is being undertaken internally by the army’s own Engineers Brigade, showcasing the force’s growing technical and infrastructural capabilities.
This directive from the country’s top military leader underscores the high priority the UPDF leadership places on the project’s timely completion, viewing it as essential for the future operational efficiency of the defence forces.
