Prince Harry Makes Surprise Visit to Kyiv, Pledges Invictus Support for Wounded Ukrainian Soldiers
KYIV – In a show of solidarity with Ukraine, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, made an unannounced visit to the capital city on Friday. The trip, his second to the country this year, focused on pledging support from his Invictus Games Foundation for Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the ongoing war with Russia.
Drawing on his own military experience, the Prince met with government officials and veterans to discuss new rehabilitation initiatives aimed at aiding both the physical and mental recovery of those affected by the conflict. His itinerary included a visit to a national museum and a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The surprise visit underscores a continued global effort to support Ukraine, with the Invictus Games Foundation playing a role in highlighting the long-term needs of wounded service personnel. The news was initially shared on social media, with Ukrainian official Anton Gerashchenko posting a welcome message on X.
