In a dramatic and public escalation of their marital woes, Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko has accused his wife, popular actress Regina Daniels, of substance abuse and violent behaviour, claiming she requires immediate rehabilitation.
The senator’s allegations come in the wake of a viral video that showed a distressed Daniels in tears, alleging she was a victim of domestic violence and had been attacked by thugs purportedly sent by her husband.
Taking to his official Instagram handle on Sunday, Senator Nwoko painted a starkly different picture. In a lengthy post, he described his wife’s recent actions as a “drug-influenced” and “unprovoked carnage” that has rocked their home.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” Nwoko stated. “She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.”
The senator detailed a series of alleged violent incidents, claiming that in the past 48 hours, Daniels had “slapped and hit three staff” and gone on a rampage, destroying property including cars and windows. He attributed this behaviour to her substance abuse issues.
Expressing further concern, Nwoko alleged that Daniels has now moved to a location where she would have “unrestricted access to drugs,” a situation he blamed on the interference of her associates, whom he labelled as “drug suppliers.”
In response, the senator said he has presented his wife with two options for rehabilitation—in Asokoro or Jordan—emphasizing that these facilities are places “where she will not have access to drugs.”
This public statement directly contradicts the narrative presented in the earlier viral video by Regina Daniels. The actress, visibly upset, had claimed she was a victim of violence, specifically alleging an attack by thugs sent by Senator Nwoko.
The conflicting accounts have thrown the high-profile marriage into the spotlight, with the public now faced with two diametrically opposed stories from the couple. The situation remains unresolved as both parties level serious allegations against each other, with no independent verification of either claim yet available.
