Socialite-Turned-Witchdoctor Bryan White Charged in Absentia for Alleged Human Sacrifice

KAMPALA – Bryan Kirumira, the former Kampala socialite known as Bryan White, has been charged in absentia with the ritual murder of a woman, Carol Nalubwama, in a case that has shocked the nation.

The prosecution alleges that on October 22, 2025, at Kyamula Zone in Makindye Division, Kirumira killed Nalubwama “for the purpose of performing witchcraft and rituals,” an act contrary to Uganda’s Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.
Despite the serious charges being read in court, Kirumira was not present. The suspect is currently bedridden in a hospital, where authorities claim he is “pretending to be seriously sick.” Police are guarding his hospital room, and officials have stated he will be produced in court as soon as he is medically able.
In addition to the murder charge, Kirumira faces a separate count of being in possession of marijuana, which was allegedly discovered by police during a search of his home.
Details emerging about the victim, Carol Nalubwama, paint a tragic picture. Reports indicate that she was introduced to the wealthy former socialite by a friend. The friend had allegedly assured Nalubwama that they could get money by becoming his lovers. However, their first outing with him reportedly yielded only Shs 50,000 each and some beers, a far cry from the promised fortune.
The case has drawn significant public attention, combining the notoriety of a former public figure with grave allegations of ritual sacrifice, casting a spotlight on the dark underbelly of wealth and influence.
