Bernie Sanders Condemns U.S. Funding for Israel Amid Gaza Civilian Deaths
U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has sharply criticized the Biden administration’s continued military support for Israel, citing the devastating toll on civilians in Gaza. According to Sanders, Israeli military operations have killed more than 18,500 children since the escalation of the war, a figure he described as “unconscionable” and evidence of ongoing war crimes.
Despite mounting civilian casualties and international outrage, the United States has provided over $22 billion in aid for Israel’s war effort. Sanders accused Washington of enabling atrocities, saying American taxpayer money is being used “to starve children, bomb schools, and gun down hungry people as they wait for aid.”
Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned of severe shortages of food, medicine, and safe shelter in Gaza, with schools and aid distribution points increasingly targeted in the fighting. Sanders has urged an immediate halt to U.S. military funding and called for urgent diplomatic action to end the violence and protect civilians.
