First Daughter Natasha Karugire Reports Impersonators to Police
Natasha Karugire, daughter of President Yoweri Museveni, has formally reported a network of impersonators to police and security agencies after a surge of fake accounts using her identity appeared on TikTok.
Karugire confirmed over the weekend that she and her team had identified and reported individuals who created fraudulent TikTok accounts in her name, with several already “located” by authorities.
Since joining TikTok in January 2025, Karugire has actively used the platform to share insights into her parents’ official duties, notably hosting the first interactive live session for President Museveni last month. However, her rapid growth on the platform has attracted malicious actors.
The First Daughter revealed that these fake accounts, using her photographs and details, are part of a predatory scheme designed to deceive the public, often soliciting money under false pretences.
“I have been informed that these fake accounts using my name and my pictures, ask the public for money in exchange for help. I will never do this for any reason,” Karugire stated. She urged the public, “Please do not encourage these fraudstars and criminals by sending them money.”
She clarified that her only legitimate account is @Natashakarugire83 and warned followers to remain vigilant.
The matter has now escalated into a full-scale criminal investigation, with Karugire’s team submitting comprehensive evidence to the relevant authorities.
