
Museveni Holds Talks with Sudanese Official on Restoring Stability

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a high-level meeting with H.E. Malik Agar, the Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, to deliberate on the escalating crisis in Sudan.
According to a statement from State House, the meeting focused on the current security and political trajectory of the war-torn country. Mr. Agar provided President Museveni with a comprehensive briefing on the ground situation, detailing the complexities of the ongoing conflict.
Discussions between the two leaders centered on the ongoing regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating the violence and restoring a sense of normalcy. President Museveni reiterated Uganda’s concern over the situation, emphasizing that a peaceful resolution is critical not only for the Sudanese people but also for the broader geopolitical stability of East Africa and the Horn.
“Peace in Sudan is vital for its people and for the stability of our region,” President Museveni said following the discussions.
The meeting underscores Uganda’s continued engagement in promoting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution among its neighbors.
