
Power Failure Disrupts Water Supply Along Entebbe Road

ENTEBBE – Thursday, March 19, 2026 – The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has announced a significant water supply interruption affecting Entebbe Road and its surrounding areas due to a power failure at the Entebbe Water Works.

According to a statement released by the corporation, the outage has disrupted water production and supply schedules, prompting emergency repairs. Engineers are currently working to restore the power line supplying the Entebbe Water Complex.

As a result, water service has been temporarily suspended in several areas, including:
Kigungu, Bugonga, Kitooro, Nakiwogo, Nsamizi, Entebbe Town Centre, Nakasamba, Lunyo, Busambaga, Manyago, Katabi, Abaita Ababiri, Bunono, Kabale, Bubuli, Nkumba, Kasenyi, Lyamutundwe, Mapala, Kitala, Garuga Road, Buzi, Wamala, Ziru, Sisa, Kawuku, Bwerenga, Bugiri, Namulanda, Bwebaja, Akright City, Kitende, Sekiwunga, Makandwa, Nakigalala, Dewe, Lutembe, Janyi, Bweya, Bulonde, and the surrounding areas.

NWSC management noted that a team of specialist engineers is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Customers in the affected zones have been urged to use any available water sparingly during the downtime.
The corporation apologized for the inconvenience, assuring the public that efforts are underway to restore normal supply.
“All inconveniences are highly regretted,” the statement read.
