
Ugandan Entertainer MC Kats Nominated for Top African MC Award at 2026 Golden Awards
Ugandan media personality Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats, has secured a nomination for Top African MC of the Year at the Africa Golden Awards 2026.
The entertainer shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), posting a nominee graphic and expressing his excitement about being recognized alongside some of the continent’s biggest names in entertainment.
“I’m now up against stars like Trevor Noah, IK Osakioduwa, and others from across Africa,” Kats noted in his announcement.

Public voting for the prestigious award opened on March 20, with winners set to receive $5,000 prizes. The nomination places Kats in contention with internationally recognized figures, including celebrated comedian and former The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, as well as veteran Nigerian media personality IK Osakioduwa.
