Minister Babalanda Urges Peace, Responsible Celebrations as Christians Mark Good Friday
Kampala, Uganda – The Minister for Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, has extended warm congratulations to all Christians upon the completion of the Lenten period and the observance of Good Friday, a solemn holy day commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
In her Easter message issued Friday, the Minister described Good Friday as a day of fasting, prayer, and mourning, focusing on Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for the redemption of humanity. She noted that the day is often called “Good” because it ultimately led to the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.
Hon. Babalanda wished a happy Easter holiday to the people of Budiope, Busoga, and all Ugandans.
“I call upon all RDCs and security teams to ensure peaceful celebrations in their respective areas of jurisdiction,” she said.
The Minister further urged all Ugandans to celebrate responsibly, emphasizing that life is precious and security starts with every individual. “Ensure the safety of your homes and properties as security organs play their part,” she added.
Hon. Babalanda also congratulated His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni upon reaching this Easter season and offered prayers for the good health of the First Lady, Mama Janet Kataha Museveni.
As Ugandans prepare for Easter Sunday celebrations, security agencies remain on high alert to maintain peace and order across the country.
