‘I Have Never Been Anyone’s Wife’ – Anne Kansiime Shocks Fans with Revelation Over Dowry
KAMPALA, Uganda – Popular Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime has left fans and followers stunned after revealing that she has never legally been anyone’s wife — because her supposed husband never paid the dowry her parents requested.
In a candid interview, Kansiime disclosed that during that relationship, she ended up paying her own dowry after the man failed to meet her parents’ demands. She admitted to living a lie for years, until she was unable to conceive while with the same partner — a circumstance she now believes was God’s way of communicating with her.
“All that is history,” she said, explaining that she has since found a man who truly values her.
The comedian, known for her skits and sharp wit, opened up about experiencing genuine love for the first time.
“I am in love for the first time like this because this is the first relationship I am in where I am taken care of,” she revealed.
Looking back, Kansiime said she carried the weight in her past relationships, often acting as the sole provider.
“In other relationships, I have always done what I must do, what I should do for the people around me. I was the bread earner, bread winner… bread eater,” she said.
