
Fatal Crash Claims Life at Suuka Along Kayunga–Jinja Road
KAYUNGA DISTRICT – A fatal road traffic crash at Suuka along the Kayunga–Jinja Road on the night of 17 May 2026 has left one person dead and three others injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 21:00 PM near the Lake Oil Petrol Station, involving a Toyota Hilux (registration number UG 0101 151) and an unidentified motorcycle.
According to preliminary investigations, the driver of the Toyota Hilux was travelling from Kayunga towards Jinja when the vehicle collided with an unidentified motorcyclist who was joining the main road. The impact caused the driver to lose control, and the vehicle overturned several times.
Three passengers sustained injuries in the crash, among them Mr. Kalangwa Kalisa Moses, who suffered critical injuries. All victims were rushed to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital for medical attention. Mr. Kalangwa was later transferred to Nakasero Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have launched investigations to establish the exact cause of the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
