Mwenda Drops Fresh Bombshells on Among, Kadaga in Live Exposé
KAMPALA — Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda has made a series of explosive claims about Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, in a detailed live online address that wove together money searches, presidential favors, and an alleged witchcraft plot.

According to Mwenda, security operatives recently searched Among’s house on a Sunday, hunting for cash and hidden treasures. When initial searches yielded nothing, they began digging up tiles in the house and staircase, convinced a vault lay underneath. Ultimately, they found only 402,000 Uganda shillings in a box inside her son’s bedroom — a detail Mwenda insisted is true.

He contrasted this with what he called “social media banter” that was false, but then claimed that those who know Among well are aware she used to keep large sums of cash at home. “Everybody who went there walked away with 50 million shillings, or 30,000 dollars,” Mwenda alleged. He questioned where that money could have gone, suggesting a possible sophisticated hidden vault.
Mwenda then shifted to President Museveni’s reported remarks about Among’s wealth. Quoting the President, he said: “I have received reports that she has accumulated a lot of money, she has 50 houses. But this information I need to verify because I know her house in Ntinda — I am the one who bought it for her. The house in Nakasero, I contributed money. The house in Kigo, I also gave her some money. And the farm in Bukedea, I gave her 200 cows; after five years they had grown to 2,000.” Museveni reportedly said he needs to investigate the alleged 50 other houses, but otherwise called the claims “lies.”
According to Mwenda, after a tense meeting, Museveni asked everyone to leave except Among. She raised concerns about CDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba endorsing someone else, but the President reassured her: “The CEC of NRM has already endorsed you. I signed the declaration. Have you ever known me to change my agreement?” Among left re-energized on Thursday, with Friday passing quietly.
But the most startling claim involved Kadaga. Mwenda said the meeting was not originally about Among. Museveni allegedly played an audio and video in which Kadaga had gone to a witch doctor to bewitch and kill five people: Museveni, Mama Janet, Saleh, Muhoozi, and Anita Among. Kadaga reportedly admitted the recordings were authentic, broke down, and apologized.

Only after that, Mwenda said, did a bishop raise the issue of Among’s excessive wealth.
