Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) and Vivo Energy Uganda Limited have inked a groundbreaking agreement to advance the storage, distribution, and development of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sourced from the Tilenga and Kingfisher oil projects. The signing ceremony, held at UNOC’s headquarters in Kampala, marks a significant step toward expanding clean energy access in Uganda.

- Clean Energy Transition: The partnership aims to reduce Uganda’s dependence on biomass fuels by promoting LPG as a cleaner, more sustainable cooking solution.
- Current LPG Consumption: Uganda’s annual LPG usage is estimated at 25,000 tonnes, with per capita consumption at just 1.2 kilograms—highlighting room for growth.
