NAIROBI, Kenya – President William Ruto on Thursday hosted Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta for a special tour of State House Nairobi, following the conclusion of the high-level joint East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) meeting on peace and stability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

“It was a pleasure to conduct my old good friend, Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, on a tour around State House,” President Ruto said. “This moment symbolises our shared commitment to the stability and prosperity of the region.”
President Kenyatta, who continues to play a key role as a peace envoy in the Great Lakes region, participated in the joint EAC-SADC Heads of State consultations that focused on coordinated efforts to restore peace, address humanitarian needs, and facilitate the reintegration of displaced populations in the conflict-hit areas of the DRC.
The two leaders reaffirmed their shared resolve to support African-led solutions and multilateral partnerships in tackling the region’s pressing security challenges.
