PARIS, France – In a ceremony held in Paris on September 22, French international Ousmane Dembélé was crowned the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or, cementing his status as the world’s best player after a spectacular season with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old forward received the prestigious award following a campaign in which he was the driving force behind PSG’s unprecedented quadruple. The Parisian club dominated both domestically and in Europe, securing an unbeaten Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France, the Trophée des Champions, and the UEFA Champions League, where they defeated Inter Milan in the final.
Dembélé’s individual statistics were nothing short of phenomenal. Across 52 appearances in all competitions, he racked up 35 goals and provided 25 assists. His influence was particularly felt in the Champions League, where his 12 goals earned him the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
During an emotional acceptance speech, Dembélé expressed gratitude to his family, coaches, and former club, FC Barcelona. He highlighted his remarkable personal journey, overcoming significant injury setbacks earlier in his career to thrive this season in a “false nine” role under the guidance of PSG manager Luis Enrique.
The official Ballon d’Or X account confirmed the news with a post stating, “OUSMANE DEMBÉLÉ IS THE 2025 MEN’S BALLON D’OR!”
