
Japanese Ambassador Visits Regional Service Centre in Entebbe, Reaffirms Strategic Partnership

ENTEBBE, Uganda – The Regional Service Centre Entebbe (RSCE) welcomed a high-level delegation led by H.E. Hiroshi Matsuura, the Ambassador of Japan to Kenya, in a visit that underscored the deepening partnership between Japan and the United Nations.

Ambassador Matsuura was received by Mr. Paulin Djomo, the Director of the RSCE, for discussions focused on the critical role the Centre plays in providing efficient, scalable, and sustainable support to UN client missions and entities across Africa and beyond.

During the meeting, Director Djomo detailed the RSCE’s comprehensive portfolio, which includes key administrative, logistical, and informational technology services that enable field missions to maintain their operational effectiveness. The discussions highlighted how this centralized support model strengthens the overall impact and efficiency of the United Nations’ work on the continent.

The visit served to reaffirm the long-standing and steadfast support of the Government of Japan for the United Nations. Japan has consistently been a key partner in global efforts to advance peace, accelerate development, and promote essential capacity-building initiatives.
