
Former Ugandan Minister Nsaba Buturo Mourns Death of Daughter, Kampala Socialite Rachael Buturo
KAMPALA, Uganda – December 17, 2025 – The family of former Ethics and Integrity Minister, Dr. Nsaba Buturo, is in mourning following the death of his daughter, Rachael Buturo, a well-known Kampala socialite. She passed away on Wednesday, December 17.
Rachael Buturo was remembered by friends and acquaintances as a kind, amiable, and sociable personality who connected easily with people across various circles in the capital. The family announced her passing with deep sorrow, describing it as a devastating loss.
“The family of former Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo, has announced the death of their daughter, Rachael Buturo,” a statement confirmed.
While the family has not yet disclosed the official cause of death, some close friends indicated she had recently complained of a migraine.
Funeral arrangements have been announced. A vigil is scheduled for Wednesday evening at the family residence in Mutungo. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, at Bugolobi Church of Uganda. Her body will then be transported to Kisoro District for burial on Saturday, December 20.
Dr. Nsaba Buturo, a prominent figure in Ugandan public life, served as a cabinet minister and remains an influential voice.
