French Montana Confirms Collaboration with Ugandan Star Joshua Baraka
American rapper French Montana has confirmed he has recorded his verse for a potential musical collaboration with Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka. The announcement came via the rapper’s social media on Friday, December 27, 2025.
Montana, born Karim Kharbouch in Morocco, posted on X: “I just touch down in Moroccoooo 🔥 my verse done.” The statement was a direct response to a fan’s appeal for him to work with Baraka, highlighting Montana’s past impact in Uganda.
Both artists are currently in Morocco as featured performers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco Fanzone. They are part of a lineup that includes major African stars like Davido, JoeBoy, and StoneBwoy. The fanzone offers fans a vibrant space to watch matches, enjoy food, and experience live entertainment throughout the month-long tournament, which concludes on January 18, 2026.
This is not French Montana’s first creative partnership with Ugandan talent. He notably worked with the acclaimed dance group Triplets Ghetto Kids, who starred in the 2017 music video for his global hit “Unforgettable” featuring Swae Lee. The video, shot in Kampala, has amassed over 1.8 billion views on YouTube and catapulted the group to international fame.
The Triplets Ghetto Kids are also present in Morocco, having performed at a pre-AFCON fan event on December 20.
The potential Montana-Baraka collaboration has generated significant excitement among fans, who see it as another opportunity for Ugandan talent to gain a global platform.
