Satellite Imagery Confirms Iranian Warship Engulfed in Flames Following US-Israeli Strike
TEHRAN/GULF OF OMAN – A Iranian warship was left ablaze at its berth following a coordinated military strike by the United States and Israel, according to satellite imagery released Saturday by Vantor Tech.
The images, captured on February 28, 2026, show a vessel identified as a Iranian naval ship engulfed in flames at the Konarak base, strategically located on the Gulf of Oman. The strike was part of “Operation Epic Fury,” a joint US-Israeli operation that saw the USS Spruance launch Tomahawk missiles in support of the action.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed over 200 casualties in the attack and has vowed swift retaliation. In a statement, the IRGC claimed to have successfully damaged a US vessel during the engagement. However, defense experts have dismissed the assertion, noting that photographic evidence shows the purported target safely pierside in New Jersey at the time of the alleged attack.
The situation has been further inflamed by a claim from former President Donald Trump, who asserted that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the strike on Tehran. Iranian state media has not confirmed the report, and the status of the Supreme Leader remains unverified.
As geopolitical tensions soar, Iran’s currency, the rial, has collapsed to record lows, trading past 1.7 million against the US dollar.
In a sign of escalating rhetoric, a post from the account BRICS News quoted Iranian officials stating that in “the coming minutes the most powerful operation in the history of the Iranian Armed Forces will be launched towards Israeli and American terrorists.”
The White House and the Pentagon have not yet commented on the Iranian threat. Regional allies are on high alert as the world watches for the next phase of what could become a broader conflict.
