New Tooro King Edward Rukidi Reportedly in Deep Thought After Elders Demand Mutoro Wife, End to Born Again Faith
According to reports, the new Tooro Kingdom King Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma Nyabongo, also known as Rukirabashaija Edward, is in deep thought after he was informed by Kingdom elders about the rules that come with the throne of the King.
Ritah Kaggwa Blog has exclusively learnt that the Kingdom elders informed King Edward Rukidi that he has to marry a Mutoro wife and also dump his Born Again religion.
It should be noted that before this, Edward Rukidi has been a Born Again Christian and has not been missing day and night prayers at Watoto Church based in Ntinda. He has also been married to Donna Amoding since 2018.
Sources say King Edward Rukidi has been told to look for a Mutoro wife. If he cannot find one, three young beautiful women, all Batoro, have already been prepared for him to pick one.
However, he has been given a lifeline: he will remain with his first wife, but he has to marry a Mutoro woman who will be staying in the kingdom palace, do queen errands, and also give birth to a new king who will take over the throne after King Edward’s reign.
On the issue of religion, the new King was ordered to drop the Born Again religion because it is not the religion of past kings. He has been told to return to the Anglican religion like the past kingdom kings and also embrace the kingdom’s cultural norms.
We have learnt that the Kingdom elders have been very angry with late Oyo Rukidi for abandoning his culture, claiming that for him as a Born Again Christian, such things were satanic and that he wanted to go to heaven, not hell. It is said that all along he has only ended up performing Mpango rituals, which has kept many Batoro in poverty and not settling in marriage wherever they are.
Sources now say that if the new King accepts the cultural norms, Batoro will change their lives like it is for the Basoga.
