Kampala — Ayeza Abigail Victoria, a 22-year-old university student, has officially picked up nomination forms to contest in Uganda’s 2026–2031 general elections.
Abigail revealed that her decision has not been fully embraced at home, with her parents expressing concern over the risks involved in joining the presidential race. Nonetheless, she maintains that the unfulfilled promises of the current government have strengthened her resolve to seek the country’s top seat.
“I know it’s not going to be an easy journey, but I believe young people deserve a voice in shaping Uganda’s future,” she said.
Abigail joins a growing list of youthful and first-time aspirants challenging the status quo ahead of the 2026 polls.
