Kampala, Uganda – 31st July 2025
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a reminder to heads of primary and secondary school examination centres that today, 31st July 2025, marks the final day for registering candidates for the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). After this deadline, all school registration portals will be closed, and UNEB will no longer accept registration data for this year’s examinations.
In a press statement released from its offices in Ntinda, UNEB urged school heads to ensure all eligible learners are registered before the deadline to avoid exclusion. The board also outlined the next steps, which include displaying candidate registers at school premises for verification by parents and students. Additionally, UNEB will provide an SMS option for confirming registration details. Amendments after registration will only be permitted for errors in candidates’ bio-data.
This year’s registration figures show a significant increase, with 1,415,857 candidates registered compared to last year’s 1,319,139—a 6.8% rise.
For further assistance, UNEB can be contacted via phone at 041-777-3100 or toll-free at 0800-211-077.
Signed:
Dan JN Odongo
Executive Director, UNEB
