ENTEBBE – The Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court has issued an arrest warrant for land broker Hajji Muhammad Kamoga, after he failed to appear in court to answer charges of forging a lawyer’s practicing certificate.
The warrant was signed on Monday morning by Grade One Magistrate, Edgar Tusiime. It directs the police to locate and arrest the proprietor of Kamoga Property Consultants by October 6, 2024.
Hajji Kamoga is facing multiple counts of forgery. The charges stem from allegations that he falsified the stamp and signature of a practicing lawyer, Lorna Nkamwesiga. Prosecutors assert that this forged documentation was then used to illegally facilitate the acquisition of a substantial 200-acre piece of land in the Garuga area of Entebbe.
The case highlights growing concerns over fraudulent practices in land transactions. The court’s decision to issue the warrant underscores the seriousness of the charges and the judicial system’s low tolerance for absconding suspects.
The police are now tasked with executing the court order and producing Hajji Kamoga before the court before the early October deadline.
