Ugandan Business Tycoon Karim Hirji Faces Serious Allegations from Adopted Children

KAMPALA – Karim Hirji, one of Uganda’s wealthiest businessmen and owner of the prominent Imperial Hotels Group, is facing disturbing allegations from children he allegedly adopted, who have come forward with accusations of serial sexual assault, sodomy, and occult practices. The claims, initially brought to light by TikToker Karim Ramesh, have sparked widespread attention across social media platforms in Uganda.
The Imperial Empire: A Hotel Conglomerate
According to Wikipedia, Imperial Hotels Group is a substantial hotel conglomerate based in Uganda with operations in Kampala and Entebbe. The group is privately owned, with “substantial ownership in the hands of Karim Hirji, one of the wealthiest individuals in Uganda”. Hirji’s estimated net worth is approximately $800 million.
The business magnate’s hospitality empire includes multiple high-end properties throughout Uganda’s capital and surrounding areas:
Hotel Properties Location Notes
Grand Imperial Hotel Kampala Landmark in city center
Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala
Hotel Equatoria Kampala Acquired 1991, later converted to shopping mall
Imperial Resort Beach Hotel Entebbe
Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel Entebbe
Imperial Golf View Hotel Entebbe
The Worldfolio describes Hirji as having built Imperial Group over more than 20 years, with the company now operating “six hotels across Entebbe and Kampala, offering everything from conference and event hosting to providing translation services and catering for up to 5,000 guests”.
Disturbing Allegations Surface
According to multiple Facebook posts that have circulated these claims, Karim Ramesh has come forward alleging that Hirji committed horrific acts against children he had adopted after their father’s death. Ramesh claims that Hirji had worked with their father and offered to care for the children following the man’s passing.
The allegations state that “after few years after staying at his home, a man they knew as their father turned into a beast and sodomized them including his relatives a situation that even led some to commit suicide”. Similar content has been shared across multiple Facebook accounts, all repeating the same serious allegations.
Occult Claims and Business Practices
Perhaps even more disturbing are the claims that the businessman engaged in occult practices. Ramesh alleges that “the tycoon is a devil worshipper who has sacrificed many to keep his wealth and that sodomizing young children is one of the methods he uses to keep his wealth”.
This is not the first time Hirji’s business practices have faced legal scrutiny. In previous years, the Court of Appeal upheld a High Court ruling ordering Imperial Royale Hotel to refund Shs 5.4 billion to the Ugandan government for breach of contract during the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Current Status and Official Response
As of now, the Uganda Police Force has not issued any official statement regarding these serious allegations. The claims remain unverified by official channels, having primarily circulated on social media platforms.
The situation continues to develop, with reports indicating that “after Tiktoker Karim Ramesh spills dirty secrets of Kampala business tycoon and rally driver, Karim Hirji other victims have started to come out on the same allegations of torture, sexual assault and child sexual abuse”.
This case has drawn significant public attention due to Hirji’s prominent status in Ugandan business circles and the serious nature of the allegations. The public now awaits any official investigation or statement from Ugandan authorities regarding these claims.
