Headline: Bobi Wine Alleges Leaked Videos and Documents Expose Torture Chambers in Uganda
Kampala, Uganda — Ugandan opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has released what he claims are leaked videos and documents detailing the severe torture of political detainees at a secret facility in Entebbe.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Bobi Wine alleged that the materials were leaked by former UPDF Lt. Herbert Matanda Mabonga, a “patriotic officer” whose conscience could no longer tolerate the alleged crimes. The documents and videos purportedly originate from a safe house located at Abaita Ababiri, Kabaale B Village, along Entebbe Road.
The Case of Sam Mugumya
Central to the allegations is the case of Sam Mugumya, a former aide to Dr. Kizza Besigye. According to Bobi Wine, Mugumya was abducted in August 2025 and has been missing for over a year. He is allegedly being held at the Special Forces Command (SFC)-run safe house.
Bobi Wine claims that Mugumya has been “gravely tortured” to the point that his legs were broken, leaving him relearning how to walk. Furthermore, the opposition leader alleges that Mugumya was forced to wear President Yoweri Museveni’s t-shirts and praise him on camera—a pattern Bobi Wine says has been narrated by numerous other abductees.
Documents Reveal Extensive List of Detainees
According to the leaked documents shared by Bobi Wine, the facility’s entry logs detail the booking of several high-profile individuals and ordinary citizens alike. The list includes:
· Rwangomani Amos (brother of Hon. Kahinda Otafiire)
· Mugumya Sam
· Bob Njagi and Oyoo Nicholas (Kenyan brothers)
· Asiku Raymond
· Father Ssekabira Deuseddit
· Ssebuwufu John Mary
· Muhumuza Bright
· Deputy President Lina Zedriga
· Deputy President Jolly Jacklyn Tukamushaba
· Fauzia Natabi (wife of comrade Najja Sheriff)
· Gideon Tugume
· Naziwa Agathar (aka Blue Tick)
· Hon. Miria Matembe
· Zale Christopher
· Deputy President Muwanga Kivumbi (National Unity Platform)
Military Denial and Calls for International Action
The Ugandan military has denied holding Sam Mugumya. Meanwhile, human rights organizations are amplifying calls for United Nations intervention, demanding justice and transparency regarding the alleged operations of these detention facilities.
Bobi Wine stated that the release of these materials is evidence that the opposition is on a “course to victory.” He called for an end to international silence regarding what he described as “crimes against humanity,” concluding his statement with the rallying cry: “UGANDA WILL BE FREE!”
