Minister Nameere Justine Nsubuga Denies Fake Party Video, Warns Against Misinformation Targeting CDF
KAMPALA, UGANDA — Minister of State for Local Government and Woman Member of Parliament for Masaka City, Hon. Nameere Justine Nsubuga, has dismissed as “fake” a circulating video clip purportedly showing her planning a celebration party for Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among (AAA), the former Speaker of Parliament candidate.
In a public statement addressed to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Minister clarified that the clip in question was maliciously edited from an old video she recorded on May 6, 2026. The original video, she explained, contained general advice to young entrepreneurs on how to capitalize on business opportunities during the swearing-in political season, including decorations, clothing, makeup, and hair services.
“The clip circulating about a party to be thrown for AAA is fake. Whoever brought it to you is your enemy, and is wrongly dragging a whole CDF into a malicious falsehood,” Minister Nsubuga stated in her message to the General.
The Minister noted that at the time of the original recording, Rt. Hon. Among was a popular candidate for Speaker of Parliament, having received endorsements from the People’s Liberation Union (PLU), CEC, and other forces. She emphasized that the political landscape has since shifted, with all forces including NRM and PLU withdrawing their support, and that “we all moved on.”
Minister Nsubuga revealed she had been offline since Sunday night and only became aware of the manipulated content through her brother, Mr. Mwesigye Franks, late Monday night.
In her statement, the Minister cautioned against individuals who exploit access to senior leaders by spreading falsehoods about resourceful people while concealing their own corruption. She prayed for divine discernment for Gen. Kainerugaba, urging him not to allow “crooks to speak louder than your strategies.”
“I have worked with you right from University, through media; you sent me on several mobilization assignments especially in Greater Masaka, way before the crooks and the noise. You know my competencies, you know my story, you are my family,” she wrote.
The Minister reaffirmed her loyalty to Gen. Kainerugaba, concluding: “High Five to you, Afande! Loyalty defines me.”
