Chameleone Steps Aside for King Saha: Releases Lugogo Stadium Booking for December 4 Concert Date

Kampala, Uganda – June 1, 2026
In a surprising display of industry camaraderie, Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone (Joseph Mayanja) has voluntarily released his fully paid booking of Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium for December 4, 2026, originally reserved for his much-anticipated concert, “Chameleone Unlimited.”
In an official letter dated May 26, 2026, from his Leone Island Music Empire, Chameleone informed Kings Love Entertainment, Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium management, the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), and the Uganda Police Force that he was making the date and venue available to fellow artist King Saha (Ssemanda Manisul, also known as Escobar) to avoid any potential clash and support the broader entertainment industry.

“I have voluntarily released my booking… In the interest of the entertainment industry and allowing other stakeholders an opportunity to host their event,” the letter reads. Chameleone emphasized that “Chameleone Unlimited” remains a priority and will be rescheduled for a later date, with the phrase “Insha Allah” added. He signed off with his trademark “For God and My Country.”
King Saha Responds with Clarification
Just days later, on June 1, 2026, King Saha issued a swift response through Kings Love Entertainment. In a letter addressed to Leone Island Music Empire, he clarified that he has no intention of organizing or holding a concert on December 4 at the venue.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state that I have no intention whatsoever of organizing or holding a concert on the same date… in competition with or alongside Jose Chameleone’s event,” Saha stated. He reaffirmed his respect for fellow artists and promoters, noting that future plans would be conducted independently to promote harmony in the industry.
Background and Reactions
The development follows reports that Chameleone’s concert had already faced previous postponements. The gesture quickly sparked discussions online, with many praising Chameleone for showing maturity and putting the industry first, especially given King Saha’s past association with Leone Island.
Some fans and commentators, however, speculated on the real reasons behind the move — whether logistical challenges, marketing strategy, or genuine goodwill amid a crowded 2026 concert calendar.
As of now, neither artist has announced firm new dates, but both camps have assured fans that their respective shows remain in the works.
This episode highlights the ongoing dynamics in Uganda’s music scene, where venue availability at premier locations like Lugogo Cricket Oval remains a hot commodity for major artists.
