

National Unity Platform Unveils Candidates for Entebbe Municipality Elections
The National Unity Platform (NUP) has officially released its list of candidates slated to compete in the upcoming local government elections for Wakiso District, specifically within Entebbe Municipality. The list, which includes candidates for a wide array of positions from Mayoral to local councillors, signals the party’s comprehensive strategy to secure leadership across the municipality’s administrative layers.
Topping the ticket for the municipality’s highest office is Richard Ssekyondo, who will be vying for the powerful position of Entebbe Municipality Mayor. The party has also endorsed candidates for the critical Division Chairperson roles. For Division A, the candidate will be Ssekawooya Arafat, and for Division B, John Mugabi (also listed as John Mugabi Socrates) will carry the party’s flag.

For the Municipality/City level, the women councillor candidates are:

Further down the ballot, the party has fielded a strong contingent for Division/Subcounty/Municipality positions. Key direct councillor candidates include Joseph Ssentongo (Kiggungu), George Ntonganvi (Kitooro Central/Kiwafu West), John Boyondo (Central), Patrick Kisembo (Central A), and Alex Efumbi (Katabi).
The women councillor candidates for these local wards feature Jane Nakafeero (Kiggungu Ward), Gladys Namata (Kiwafu), Racheal Apio (Central A), and Eva Namanda (Katabi-Busambaga), among others.
Notably, the list also includes Najja Nasiif as the candidate for the pivotal District Chairperson position for the larger Wakiso District.
