Senior IDF Official Warns Israel Preparing for Potential New Strike on Iran
TEL AVIV, Israel – October 1, 2025 – A senior Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) official issued a stark warning on Wednesday, stating that Israel is actively preparing for potential military escalation with Iran, including the possibility of another strike, as a regional arms race intensifies.
The declaration underscores the ongoing and severe tensions between the two nations, which have remained high since “Operation Rising Lion” in June 2025. That significant Israeli military action targeted Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities. While a fragile, U.S.-brokered ceasefire has held since then, the underlying conflict appears to be reaching another boiling point.
According to the official, the continued threat stems from Iran’s persistent nuclear activities. Intelligence indicates Iran continues to enrich uranium to near-weapons-grade levels, far exceeding the limits set by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.
In response to the escalating situation, the United States has reinforced its regional posture by deploying additional missile defense systems to the Middle East, a move signaling concern over the potential for a broader conflict.
The warning confirms that the tentative calm following last summer’s confrontation is precarious, with Israel publicly positioning itself for the possibility of renewed military action to counter the threat it perceives from Iran’s nuclear program.
