Uganda’s EuroGold Refinery Establishes Global Hub with New Dubai Headquarters
DUBAI — In a strategic move to solidify its international footprint, Uganda’s EuroGold Refinery has officially inaugurated its main offices in Dubai, positioning itself at the heart of the global gold trade.
Founder and owner Benard Feni celebrated the opening in Dubai’s Business Bay as the fulfillment of a “long-held ambition,” driven by persistent client demand and the emirate’s status as a premier commodities trading center.
“Opening offices in Dubai is a dream come true,” Feni stated. “Dubai has become a major centre for the global gold trade, and it made sense for us to be present here.”
The relocation of the company’s primary headquarters to Dubai is a direct response to feedback from an international clientele, particularly investors looking toward African opportunities. Feni noted that a Dubai presence boosts investor confidence due to the city’s rigorous regulatory and due-diligence frameworks.
The new office will serve as a critical bridge for international traders, simplifying transactions and addressing long-standing logistical challenges. “Many foreign clients complained that their gold did not reach its destination once shipped,” Feni explained. “Our Dubai operation is fully operational and backed by the authorities here.”
Under the new structure, EuroGold will assume full responsibility for shipping gold from its Ugandan operations directly to Dubai, where clients can now collect their shipments securely. This end-to-end control is expected to enhance efficiency, reliability, and investor protection.
The move has already attracted potential partners in payments and procurement, with some clients opting to complete financial transactions in Dubai before gold is sourced, processed, and shipped.
Looking ahead, Feni disclosed that Dubai will serve as the company’s central hub for planned expansion into markets in China and Hong Kong. He acknowledged Sheikh Ahmed Muhammed and Hugo Patricio of the Light Moon Group Dubai for their support in establishing the new headquarters.
The establishment of EuroGold’s central office in Dubai marks a significant evolution for the Ugandan refinery, transitioning from a regional operator to a streamlined participant in the global gold market.
