Muhoozi Kainerugaba Announces 1 Billion Shilling Fund, Seeks Public Input on Administrators
February 8, 2026 – CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced the creation of a substantial MK fund, declaring on social media that he has been directed to increase its target to 1,000,000,000 shillings.
In posts made approximately 11 hours ago, Kainerugaba stated, “My God, Jesus Christ, has ordered me to increase it to 1,000,000,000/-.” He added that administrators would advise him on its management and promised to announce their names tomorrow, confirming he would serve as Chairman of the fund.
The announcement was followed by a public call for assistance. “I need 3 administrators. Tell me the most honest people you know,” he asked his followers, generating over a thousand replies. One reply from user Daudi Kabanda suggested Col. Christopher Muwumba and Lt. Col. Chris Magezi, among others.
Kainerugaba outlined that the administrators would be tasked with providing an annual report for the “MK fund.”
Investment Focus Aligns with National Priorities
In a related repost, Kainerugaba clarified the fund’s investment strategy, aligning it with national development goals. “We shall only invest in the 4 areas Mzee has identified for wealth creation,” he wrote, listing:
- Commercial agriculture
- Manufacturing
- Mining
- Services including tourism and ICT
The post, garnering over 45,000 views, sparked public suggestions. The Brief Media replied, recommending the inclusion of waste treatment and management as a significant source of job creation.
The combined posts indicate a major new financial initiative poised to channel funds into key sectors of the Ugandan economy, with a unique blend of personal conviction, public consultation, and strategic planning.
