ENTEBBE – In a significant political development, Nabatta Joyce Namuli has been officially endorsed as the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for the Entebbe Municipality constituency.
The announcement was met with a heartfelt statement from Nabatta, who extended her “heartfelt and warm gratitude” to the party leadership for considering her “the most suitable candidate to hold the flag.”
Reflecting on her political journey, Nabatta described it as one she “humbly began with the will and grace of my people of Entebbe.” She paid tribute to her constituents, with whom she has “been in the trenches,” acknowledging their unwavering confidence in her potential despite the challenges.
In her address, the flag bearer outlined her philosophy of leadership, acknowledging the difficulties that come with serving a diverse community. “Leadership is about listening and appreciating what people want,” she stated. “Great leadership entails serving the will of the people, and this is what exactly I stand for.”
Nabatta was quick to shift the credit from herself, emphasizing that the achievement was not a personal effort but the result of a collective struggle. “This is the effort of my team with whom we have been sharing and working towards building this dream,” she noted.
She issued a broad thank you to the various groups that supported her, including the elders of Entebbe, the youth, women groups, and clergymen. Concluding her vote of thanks, she attributed her success to a higher power, stating, “the entire vote of gratitude goes to the Almighty God whose will and grace is the reason we are here today.”
Pledging to remain a steadfast representative, Nabatta promised to continue being the “humble, listening and loyal servant that my people have known over time.”
With her nomination secured, Nabatta Joyce Namuli now prepares to contest for the Entebbe Municipality seat, carrying the banner for the NUP party in the upcoming elections.
