
PLU Chairman Assigns Patriotic Officer Numbers to 20 Key Members
KAMPALA, Uganda – The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has officially assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) numbers 021 through 040 to 20 members in recognition of their historical contributions to the organization.
The list includes a diverse cross-section of Ugandan society, featuring sitting politicians, retired military leaders, community figures, and one posthumous recognition.

Among those honored are Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga (PO 021), Hon. Lukia Nakadama Isanga (PO 022), Mr. Samuel Katugunda (PO 023), Hon. Ali Ndawula (PO 024), Hon. Adome Francis (PO 025), Hon. Rtd. Major Joseph Kakooza (PO 026), Eng. Sam Kajojo (PO 027), Mr. Sam Nabeta (PO 028), Hon. Linos Ngompek (PO 029), Ms. Zipora Akol (PO 030), Mr. Joe Omara (PO 031), Ms. Prisca Yoriyori (PO 032), Hon. Jimmy Lwanga (PO 033), Hon. Ssentayi Muhammad (PO 034), Ms. Sarah Kiyimba (PO 035), General Taban Amin (PO 036), Mr. Katwire Polly Karamuzi (PO 037), Rtd. General Emmanuel Rwashande (PO 038), the late Mr. Peter Banura (PO 039), and Mr. Ssebunya Shafique (PO 040).
Military and Political Representation
The appointments notably include several prominent figures from Uganda’s military establishment. General Taban Amin, son of former President Idi Amin, and Rtd. General Emmanuel Rwashande bring significant defence force experience to the PLU ranks. The inclusion of Hon. Rtd. Major Joseph Kakooza further bridges the military-civilian divide within the organization.
Posthumous Recognition
The PLU leadership also remembered Mr. Peter Banura, listed as deceased, by awarding him PO 039, underscoring the organization’s commitment to honoring those who contributed to its cause even after their passing.
