Police Investigate Death of Young Woman at Socialite Bryan White’s Home

KAMPALA – Ugandan police have launched an investigation into the death of a 25-year-old woman, Caroline Nalubwama, following a fatal incident at the residence of controversial city socialite Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White.
The tragic event occurred on October 27, 2025, at Kirumira’s home on Salaama Road in Kyamula, Makindye Division, Kampala. According to police, Nalubwama sustained serious injuries in what has been preliminarily described as a gas explosion. She was rushed to Kiruddu Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed the investigation. “The territorial police at Katwe are actively investigating the circumstances under which one Nalubwama Caroline, aged 25, allegedly sustained serious injuries resulting in her death,” Owoyesigyire stated.
He revealed that detectives have cordoned off the scene, collected exhibits for forensic analysis, and transferred the body to City Mortuary Mulago for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Bryan White, 38, was also injured during the incident and was taken to a private hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that he has already recorded a statement and is cooperating with the investigation as he receives medical care.
The case was officially reported at Katwe Police Station by the deceased’s father, Tom Mutyaba, under reference number DEF 73/2025. The explosion reportedly caused significant damage to property within the home.
This incident has once again thrust Bryan White, a once-prominent figure known for his lavish philanthropy and self-proclaimed “money lord” status, back into the spotlight of controversy. He rose to fame around 2017 through his Bryan White Foundation, which attracted a massive youth following with cash giveaways. However, his reputation crumbled after numerous young women accused him of sexual abuse, harassment, and exploitation in 2020.
In 2021, Uganda’s Parliamentary Human Rights Committee even recommended his arrest over allegations involving a 17-year-old girl, though no conviction followed. He subsequently faded from public view until now.
“Efforts are underway to retrieve CCTV footage and interview additional witnesses to piece together the actual sequence of events,” Owoyesigyire added, noting that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
The death of Caroline Nalubwama has reignited public scrutiny of the socialite, with many Ugandans questioning his history of evading serious legal consequences. The investigation continues as authorities work to unravel the events that led to the young woman’s death.
