
President Museveni Mourns Senior Advisor Kalangwa as “A Brick in Uganda’s Transformation”

Kayunga, Uganda – The Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties and Chairperson of the NRM Party in Kayunga District, the late Moses Kalangwa Kalisa, was laid to rest in a burial ceremony marked by profound grief and high-level government representation.

Delivering the keynote condolence message on behalf of the government and the ruling NRM party, a representative conveyed the deep sorrow of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who described Kalangwa’s sudden death in a motor accident as a devastating loss to the nation.

In his message, President Museveni noted that he received the news of Kalangwa’s untimely passing on 16th May 2026 with profound sadness. The President extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, colleagues, and the entire country.
“The sudden death of Kalangwa has robbed the country of a hard-working leader and an effective mobilizer for the NRM Party in Kayunga District,” President Museveni stated. He further noted that the party has lost a loyal cadre who was still in the prime of his life, with much more to contribute to the development of Kayunga and Uganda as a whole.
Praising the fallen leader’s legacy, the President remarked: “On this occasion of his send-off, I salute him for putting a brick (etofari) on Uganda’s development and socio-economic transformation during his lifetime.”
Concluding the message, President Museveni offered prayers to the grieving family. “At this moment of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with his family; I pray that God grants you the fortitude and courage to endure your loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Kalangwa Kalisa passed away in a fatal accident on 16th May 2026. He was remembered at the burial as a dedicated cadre whose contributions to the party and national development will not be forgotten.
