Kampala – As the Uganda Cranes prepare for their crucial CHAN quarter-final encounter, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has moved to tighten ticketing regulations by reducing the number of tickets available for online purchase to a maximum of three per person.
The decision, confirmed by Dennis Mugimba, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education and Sports and the CHAN Tournament Local Organising Committee, is intended to curb fraud in the ticketing process.
Mugimba explained that the measure is designed to prevent unscrupulous individuals from bulk-buying tickets and reselling them at inflated prices, a practice that has in the past locked genuine fans out of the stadium.
“With the team advancing to the knockout stages, demand for tickets is expected to rise sharply. Limiting purchases to three per person is a safeguard to ensure that as many fans as possible have a fair chance to watch the Cranes in action,” Mugimba noted.
The Uganda Cranes, who have enjoyed strong home support throughout the tournament, are hoping for another packed stadium as they chase a historic spot in the semi-finals.
