KAMPALA – In a heart-wrenching and candid interview, city entertainer MC Casmir has publicly detailed the events leading to the death of his child’s mother, Evelyn Nshemereirwe, attributing her sudden passing to severe health complications exacerbated by the frequent use of shisha and alcohol.
The tragedy unfolded during the recent Christmas period when Nshemereirwe suddenly fell ill. What was initially thought to be a common holiday season ailment quickly escalated into a medical emergency.
“We didn’t realize how bad it was because she kept taking beer and shisha a lot for fun,” MC Casmir explained, his voice heavy with remorse. “And one Christmas she fell sick and we took her to the hospital only to realize that her lungs were already faulted.”
According to his account, medical professionals delivered a devastating diagnosis: Nshemereirwe’s lungs had sustained critical, irreversible damage. Her condition rapidly deteriorated as she began coughing up blood, a terrifying symptom of her severe internal injuries.
The situation reached its tragic conclusion just one week after she was admitted. “She was trying to cough and her heart stopped beating,” MC Casmir stated, describing the moment her life was cut short.
The entertainer’s public revelation has cast a stark spotlight on the popular social activity of shisha smoking, often perceived as a harmless recreational pastime, particularly among young adults. Health experts consistently warn that shisha smoke is toxic, containing numerous harmful chemicals known to cause lung cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other life-threatening conditions.
MC Casmir’s story serves as a sobering public health warning. By sharing his personal loss, he hopes to highlight the severe and often hidden dangers of substance abuse, urging others to recognize the risks before it is too late.
The family has requested privacy as they continue to grieve their profound loss.
