Uganda Patriotic League Settles Internal Dispute Through Mediation
Kampala, Uganda – The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has successfully resolved a long-standing internal conflict following a mediation meeting, according to an announcement made by Hon. Mwesigye Frank on Saturday.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Hon. Mwesigye Frank expressed his sincere appreciation to the General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Hon. Twalla Fadil, for mediating a dispute between himself and Dr. Tugume Nelson.
“The long-standing misunderstanding between us has finally been resolved, and we are now ready to work together for the betterment of PLU,” Mwesigye stated.
The reconciliation meeting, which aimed to unify the party’s ranks, also included key figures. Hon. Mwesigye extended special thanks to his “brothers,” identified as @Ronkawamara and @BillsRa, for their participation in what he described as an “important and fruitful meeting that has brought our conflict to an end.”
The resolution comes as the PLU continues to expand its nationwide operations. According to reports summarizing the group’s activities, the organization is utilizing online endorsement tools and district operations with an ambitious target of collecting 20 million signatures to support a 2031 presidential bid. Additionally, the group has planned a demonstration at the Turkish Embassy scheduled for September 18.
Hon. Mwesigye concluded his statement by reaffirming his support for the party’s leadership, rallying behind PLU Chair Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba with the slogan, “Gen. Muhoozi juuuu!”
While supporters have welcomed the renewed harmony within the party’s leadership, some online voices have questioned lingering issues regarding past allegations, despite the PLU’s stated focus on anti-corruption.
