Karen, Nairobi — July 2025
Before concluding his official visit to Kenya, a distinguished Ugandan leader delivered a high-level opportunity lecture to senior military and government officers attending Course No. 28 (2025–2026) at the National Defence College (NDC) in Karen, Nairobi.
In his address, the speaker delved into the historical and ideological foundations of Uganda’s ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), emphasizing its three historical missions and four ideological principles as critical pillars for the prosperity of the Ugandan people and the wider East African region.
The lecture also served as a rallying call to the continent’s youth, urging them to “wake up and join the money economy” as a strategic step toward self-reliance, innovation, and sustainable development. He highlighted the pivotal role the proposed East African Federation can play in unlocking economic opportunities and securing long-term regional stability.
“By uniting our economies and people, and adopting Kiswahili as a common language,” he said, “we can strengthen our bonds and establish a true center of gravity for Africa.”
The event at NDC was attended by high-ranking officers from Kenya and across the region, and it formed part of the ongoing exchange of ideas aimed at fostering regional cooperation, leadership, and strategic security thinking.
The visit and lecture underscored the growing synergy between Uganda and Kenya on issues of Pan-Africanism, regional integration, and socio-economic transformation.
