
Second Ebola Medical Supply Shipment Arrives in Uganda, Boosting DRC Response
Entebbe, Uganda – A second shipment of Ebola medical countermeasures has arrived at Africa’s Ebola Continental Supply Chain mechanism in Entebbe, Uganda, authorities confirmed today. The delivery brings the total volume of supplies transported to nearly 50 metric tons.
The critical cargo is being rapidly forwarded to support the ongoing Ebola Virus Disease response in Bundibugyo-affected areas of Ituri Province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
This multinational logistics operation has been made possible through close collaboration with the Uganda National Medical Stores (NMS), the UN Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) EU Humanitarian Aid Flight, and the Ministry of Health of the DRC.
Officials hailed the operation as a powerful demonstration of African-led coordination, continental solidarity, and strategic partnerships in the face of public health emergencies.
The rapid deployment of medical countermeasures underscores growing momentum in health security preparedness and response across the continent.
