Security Guard Remanded Over Murder of Ugandan TikToker Diana Skyz
KAMPALA – A security guard accused of raping and murdering popular Ugandan social media personality Diana Namulinde has been remanded after appearing in court on Thursday.
Webisa Marvin, who was attached to the apartment block where the 24-year-old TikToker lived, was brought before the City Hall Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kampala facing charges of rape, murder, and aggravated robbery.
The magistrate declined to take Marvin’s plea due to the seriousness of the offences, which fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Namulinde, known online as Diana Skyz, was found dead in her Kwaata Zone residence on 4 February after friends raised concerns when she failed to respond to messages and calls. Police found her apartment door open. Investigators later confirmed she had been strangled.
The breakthrough came when Marvin was discovered in possession of items believed to have been stolen from Namulinde’s home. Several of the recovered belongings were positively identified as belonging to the deceased, leading to his arrest.
Prosecutors have requested more time to conclude investigations. The case has been adjourned to 3 March 2026 for mention.
Namulinde, a businesswoman and content creator, had built a substantial following on TikTok and Instagram.
