Catherine Kusasira’s Entebbe Business Venture Shuts Down Amid Property Dispute
ENTEBBE, UGANDA – Celebrated singer and former political aspirant Catherine Kusasira has ended the year on a somber note as her prominent car washing bay and restaurant complex in Entebbe has been abruptly shut down and demolished.
The business, known as ‘Lady Boss’ washing bay, which also housed a bar and luwombo restaurant, was located adjacent to Horizon Hotel in Entebbe. It had been operational for approximately three years before closing its doors without official notice to its customer base.
According to reports, the closure resulted from a fallout with the property landlords, who decided to reclaim the land for redevelopment. The entire facility has since been razed to the ground, with construction materials reportedly removed from the site.
The article further states that the shutdown was marred by violence, with workers allegedly being knifed during the contentious eviction process. Specific details regarding the severity of these incidents or potential police involvement remain unclear.
Catherine Kusasira, famously of the Eagles Production band and a former aspirant for the Buikwe Woman Parliamentary seat, had diversified into the hospitality and service sector with this venture. Its demise marks a significant setback for the entrepreneur.
The property, now cleared, awaits new development by the landowners. This incident highlights the often-precarious nature of business tenancy in the region. There has been no immediate public statement from Kusasira regarding the closure or her future business plans.
