KAMPALA, UGANDA – In a significant show of political alignment, a coalition of several political parties has formally pledged its support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the ongoing presidential election campaigns.

The announcement was made by the Right Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, after the leaders of the coalition parties paid her a courtesy call at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
“I congratulate the political parties that have formed a coalition and pledged to support @KagutaMuseveni in the ongoing presidential election campaigns,” Nabbanja stated.
The coalition includes a diverse group of parties, namely the Republic Women and Youth Party, Liberal Democratic Transparency (LDT), National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP), and the Congress Service Volunteers Organisation (COSEVO).
The Prime Minister specifically commended Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi, the Chairman of the National Consultative Forum (NCF), for his role in mobilizing the parties. The NCF is a constitutional body that brings together all political parties with representation in Parliament.
Nabbanja expressed her approval of the coalition’s decision, stating, “I welcome their decision to form a coalition and support President @KagutaMuseveni to continue protecting the gains.”
This move is seen as a consolidation of support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ahead of the elections, broadening the incumbent president’s base by incorporating the structures and constituencies of the allied parties. The coalition’s backing underscores a key campaign message of continuity and protecting the nation’s developmental achievements.
Signed:
Right Hon. Robinah Nabbanja
Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda
